BOOK 2 · APPENDIX
Appendix: The Hand Journal
Three pages to copy and keep beside you at the table. They follow this page.
The hand journal is the tool behind this whole book. It's how you catch your own reasons while you play, the same way the AI writes down its reason for every move.
- Page 1 has your name, the date, the game number and which table you played. Under that are short instructions, a tally line for easy folds, and room for one hand.
- Page 2 holds two more hands. Copy it as many times as you need.
- Page 3 is for after the session: count your whys, decide which Sushi Menu robot you played like, and write down what no checkbox could say.
How to use it: write up only the hands worth a thought. An easy fold, like seven-two offsuit, gets a tally mark and nothing more. For each hand you write up, fill one circle for what you did (F = fold, K = check, C = call, R = raise) and one for why. Afterwards, open the game in Game Review and fill in the "At Review" strip: your cards' Sklansky group, and whether it was a good decision, whatever the result.
"What Were You Thinking?" in Part I explains it in full, with a filled-in example.
Make copies: photocopy or scan these three pages, enlarged to fill a letter-size sheet. Page 2 is the one you'll need most, so make several.
